The Tweed Heads Bowls Club (THBC) which is directly opposite (about 50 metres), was the winner of the 2006 Bowls Queensland Club of the year. The club in 2007 also hosted the inaugural World Team Cup. From May through to August the Club hosts a number of significant bowling events. The Wintersun Carnival is held every year at Tweed Heads/Coolangatta. A very popular event running for ten days end of May, beginning of June every year.
